Why Tattoos are Permanent
|
The ink used in tattooing has similar characteristics with that of a coal dust. Thus a variety of pigments and dyes are used to create tattoo ink. These dyes are usually a mixture of metallic elements such as iron oxides, titanium dioxide, aluminum or lead chromate.
Then tattoo ink is applied on a deeper layer of our skin using sharp objects. Nowadays, the commonly used method is electric tattoo machine. Since our skin is composed of different layers, the ink used for tattooing is not actually applied in the epidermis but through the dermis. The epidermis is the part of our skin where sweat glands and hair follicles are situated, and it renews itself easily. This can be noticed when your skin is peeling off especially if you are using skin whitening products. So if some people complain that their tattoos were removed after some time, then it just means that the process done to them was not the real tattooing process. Because a tattoo that was applied through the dermis should stay in your skin forever unless you undergo a tattoo removal process.
With the rigid processes involved in tattooing and coupling it with the use of unique ink, these ensure that the tattoo will stay forever in your skin.
